Edelbrock 7102 cam sound.
First, I was disappointed. I didn't feel or hear the advertised 420 or so horsepower of my rebuilt 355 with Edelbrock E-210 heads and Performer RPM intake manifold. Second, after properly breaking in the cam / engine with cam lube and break in oil, the cam rounded out 2 lobes and about 4 lifters were damaged. 1 lifter actually came apart.

Feb 28, 2020 · 1st gen SBC running EDL RPM heads & cam. 1957 Chevy. PF4 35770. CAL ID 5015. 35 lb injectors 43 psi fuel press. I selected the "race" cam due to the 234/244 duration of the 7102 cam. I got it running yesterday. After I got thru the wizard and all was warm and good I saw the idle vacuum was steady at 14.5. The chips have a +- of 10 degrees, from their posted duration. The Maximum HP is around 450-480 for the Pro-Flo system, and minimum vacuum is around 10" at idle for the #3516. The Edelbrock camshaft ( #7102 ) will have a idle vacuum of around 11", and make around 420 HP. The important aspect is the idle vacuum. Yes #3514 will match the camshaft.
