Having broken bones is a good thing. It's actually optimal for your characters to have the broken bones/fracture debuff. This is because when you first get fracture, your health is reduced to 80%. But the thing is that when you leave a screen your max health is readjusted to 96%. As far as I know, this is true for all characters except skeletons.
