IMHO the best episode of Frasier. It has everything... a little bit of physical comedy, the chemistry, the expectation that this is going to be it where Niles and Daphne finally become an item, the triumph, then the utter heartbreak, yet ending with the notion that a different path isn't necessarily a bad route to take. Daphne was obviously meant for Niles, but if they made Donnie super cute and charming and attractive then fans might feel conflicted, so they cast a not-so-hot actor and gave Donnie some kinda gross flaws so that everyone would be rooting for Niles. It’s a lazy writing tactic but an effective one. 11.

The first episode says it's been 6 months.

Columnist Derek Mann. Maybe just me, but I wish the series had continued with a longer running feud between Frasier and Seattle columnist Derek Mann. I think a perfect example is 'A Coffee With Niles'vs 'The Chinese Restaurant', both are bottle episodes but Frasier is more about the different characters interrupting an intimate conversation whereas Seinfeld is more about them waiting and talking about George's bedroom shenanigans. Timbermill Restaurant. It always bugs me how the Timbermill cuts the ties off Frasier and Niles. Many ties are unique, expensive, irreplaceable, and could have special meaning to the person. Frasier does farce extremely well, but there are a couple of episodes in the series that just lean way too heavily on worn tropes for me. This is one, and The Innkeepers is another. As I have said on another thread, Innkeepers especially feels like a mashup of Fawlty Towers and Three’s Company to me (the old swinging restaurant door gag — oof).

I absolutely love the New Frasier. It’s great seeing Kelsey Grammer back on screen and in his element. He brings back the humor and charm that made me love the original show. His chemistry with the actor that plays Freddie is excellent. I genuinely liked all the supporting characters and actors that played them. She was tough, cultured, witty but also a bit kooky.
