D. dukntz Discussion starter. 2 posts · Joined 2006. #1 · Dec 19, 2006. I just bought a Sweet 16, Belgium made with a serial number starting with S. I think it was made around 1954. It has matt rib with mod barrel, in very-good condition. The only thing I see not original is a Pachmayr recoil pad.
That model was introduced in 1958, and the serial number should have a prefix consisting of one or two digits and the letter V. One digit for the years 1958-68, then two for 1968-76. None of these guns should have a serial number on the barrel, though Nigel’s revelation makes anything possible. Jan 19, 2010 · I misread your post. I thought that the serial number was on the left side of the action which would make it an "American Browning"/Remington M11. You, indeed, have a Sweet Sixteen made by FN in Belgium probably in 1957. Sorry to mislead you! Bye the way, many feel that the A5s made in that time period are the best of the best.
