I honestly think even med school interviews being remote is fine in comparison, but residency is a whole other game. The culture just matters so much more. That being said, it cost a TON in time and money. We need to bring it back in some shape or form with more available AAMC sponsored scholarships for those who can’t afford it.

I know lots of people who were non AOA (some top schools don’t even have AOA) and <250 step 1 who matched at BWH/MGH, especially in internal med since it’s a less competitive specialty.
