4l60E screen filter...Where does it go? So it seems I have a different style lock-up solenoid on the new wiring. The first picture is my old lock-up solenoid it has a "t" shape at the end and twists into the solenoid. The second picture is my new lock-up solenoid. I have a screen filter in my kit that fits okay in the solenoid.

After 1992 the transmission morphed into a 4L60E. If you have lost 3rd & 4th you have burned up the 3-4 clutch pack. The transmission will have to be removed from the vehicle & repaired/rebuilt.
