So long story short, my auxiliary battery (didn't know I had one on my Jeep) died out and caused strain on my alternator which in turn caused a short in the fuse box and I am now looking at a $300 repair. Now the long story. I took my JL to the dealership a week ago because I've noticed my Jeep was not stopping and starting as before.
The 12v battery is not like previous JL batteries because it is bigger. In theory all the issues with dead batteries on older JLs should be gone. The 48 v lion battery is disconnected by theJeep electronics until the motor is started . Then the 48 v battery charges the 12v battery thru an dc-dc charger device.Wow Don. For clarity: the aux switch wires will be between the battery and the side of the Jeep's Engine bay. They will be wound and taped into place.
