But if you have to have one, 1301. Faster shooter, better ergos, lighter. I have a LTT 1301 & a M4. I have both. I’ve had zero malfunctions with the m4 and a handful with the 1301. The 1301 seems faster. M4 feels tougher. If I could only keep one I would keep the m4. In the end neither are cheap.

The M4 is more of an iconic battle proven shotgun but really only has a self defense role in my eyes. The 1301 comp pro can do everything, sporting clays, general range fun and is light and nimble enough to play a self defense role if need be. Both will serve you well but the 1301 comp pro is the best do it all shotgun from my experience.

The M4 is better in nearly every metric. The only downside being the lesser capacity due to import restrictions and the extra pound of weight. It cycles smoother, shoots softer, and has a superior operating system. The blink system in the beretta is awesome, but not as refined as the argo.The 1301 is a tarted up tactical hunting model. Between these two, as others have stated, the main difference is the weight, the other difference is the M4 has two small gas pistons while the Beretta has only one large piston.
