Save. Yes the 4S is a notch above the Ritz... though neither one is anywhere near top of the brand quality wise. The real question as you've realized already is is the 4S worth the difference. That time of year the south will be better if you're planning to hangout on the beach or at the pool. We are looking at Ocean View rooms at Andaz Maui or Ritz Carlton, Kapalua. I am looking for some thoughts on which resort might be better for honeymooners. We have never been to Maui and are really looking forward to it. Room size is not a top priority. We mostly care about location, weather, beaches, the resort property, dining, and amenities.

Kapalua is very quiet, and the hotel is a treat. The hotel did not provide an ambassador upgrade due to suite renovations, but the standard room is spacious. We love the small pool and the story behind the Kapalua area. The service is awe-inspiring, and we hope to come back in the future. Read less.

The Ritz sits up on a bluff above the ocean. The beach is not close for letting kids head down there on their own. The Ritz Carlton buffet is the best of any luau on any island. Everything is included: pictures, flower lei, activities, tips, bar, etc. The MC for the show is wonderful. Upon returning to Maui, we naturally selected the Ritz-Carlton because of their exceptional grounds, restaurants, amenities and service! We were especially pleased and amazed at the new look of the Ritz-Carlton after seemingly extensive renovations.
