I recently purchased the 380 Easy Performance Center, after putting thousands of rounds through the standard model 380 EZ. I wanted greater accuracy thinking that the performance model would deliver. It didn’t.

Because the Model 41 comes from the factory with a light recoil spring that's designed to operate the gun on Standard Velocity ammunition.

From initial impressions, it's a good firearm. Actually quite accurate for a 2.5" barrel, and I was impressed by the smooth cycle and reasonable recoil for a firearm so small. I do think the trigger pull is extremely long though, even for a DOA.

The 5946 was built during the heyday of Stainless Steel, big frame semi auto's. They are very rugged and well built. And are all but impossible to wear out. Today the trend is lighter, cheaper, and smaller because of the popularity of concealed carry. Few citizens want to carry a 40 ounce, all steel pistol.Having extra recoil springs on-hand isn't a bad idea if you plan on doing a lot of shooting. The spring for the CS45 is painted green (the CS9 is red) and can be bought from S&W for about $3.26/ea (plus shipping, etc).
