Select "exit power armor" and your guy will say something like "I need you to get out of your power armor" and Nick will say something like "Sure thing, pal" etc. There is no option to tell him to exit. Honestly, I just let Nick have a power armor suit if he wants it. He's a robot, it's okay. It isn't even power armor it's just Nick as a bigger ...

The Quantum Armor is nicer IMO but i feel for you. If you can get mods then use the developer room or cheat room mod to get that power armor. Then just don't go back in there if you don't want to cheat again.
