The lever positively retracts the firing pin on opening and blocks full movement until it locks the bolt shut. If it DIDN'T move freely, you'd have a problem. Clean the slot the firing pin rides in well, make sure there's no impacted crud where front of the pin's "leg" rides in the bolt and you'll be good.

Can't think of a reason why they wouldn't send an ejector to Belgium, but check with them to determine if they will mail a 39AS ejector to your address. The screw that holds it can be seen on top of the receiver. That spring serves two purposes. 1) It keeps the firing pin from rising above the rim of the cartridge. 2) It keeps the cartridge aligned with the chamber for smooth chambering.
