Jul 9, 2018 · 2016 Ranger 900 XP Ground Issues. New to the forum and this is my first post. Last night I was out checking water tanks and mineral tubs on the Polaris. I shut off the machine to do a few things. When I went to start it up again it would not even turn over. Fuel pump overheating is the most common issue among all fuel pump problems of the Polaris Ranger 1000. It usually happens when the fuel pump fails to deliver the required amount of fuel. This overheats the fuel pump and the combustion chamber and ultimately leads to severe engine damage.

The hose comes from the tank to the pump then the inline filter then to the driver side to the carb. It is a black hose that is about 1/4 inch I.D. The fuel pump will have two wires to it.
