Biggest difference between the two, from my experience (2018 models for both): Forester is taller, and has less cargo space (may look similar on paper, but the Forester cargo area is taller that the Outback but not as deep) Forester seating feels "higher", the Outback sits lower.To do this: hold power button, tuner button, and the cd ejection button all together for 3-5 seconds until the radio turns off. Once the radio powers back on the sound will work. If it doesn't then try the battery disconnect but this method should work to fix this software glitch. The Forester allows a fairly painless spark plug replacement. Two 1" extensions and a quality 14mm spark plug socket. Buy a SP socket with retention clips, not rubber friction inserts. Very hard to fish that rubber out if it comes off or breaks. $400 is not a lot for tech service. I've seen quotes as high as $600.

Plug in the cable for the rear camera, then route it along the headliner. WHen you get across the A pillar at the top, remove the weatherstipping from around the door area and push the cable under the headliner. Continue towards the rear of the car. Put the weatherstip back as you get the cable installed.

At 36,000 miles exhaust was leaking into the cab and a cracked manifold was diagnosed they had to replace it because it was still under warranty it took one month because they did not have the part. Later in 2018 we bought another brand new 2018 Forrester. Hey everyone! My name is Matt, and I'm from the MA/NH USA area. I got myself a new (to me) 2016 Forester Touring 2.5i with Eyesight at the end of this summer! I was driving a 2005 Hyundai Sonata 2.7L V6 I picked up used in 2016 before this car. I had a love hate relationship with it, but all in all it was stubborn car that refused to die.

Its also pretty noticable from the body style. SF - had the rear number plate holder down in the bumper, square fog lights. SG - rear plate up on the tailgate, round fog lights.
