But you would need complete system access to effectively run a custom app or code on it. iPhone being proprietary makes them kinda awful for use in this case. But then again I dont own an iPhone. From what I've found is you can spoof a scan if there's a scanner connected otherwise it won't do anything. So I think you'd have to trick the system into thinking there's a reader connected, then spoof it. That makes sense, however it won't stop me trying until I've decided to shell out the cash for a reader.
